LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crimes Unit has apprehended Ali Hassan Toor, a key suspect in the creation and dissemination of a fake video targeting Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari.
Toor was detained at Sialkot Airport while attempting to leave the country. Immigration authorities alerted to his movements promptly notified the FIA’s Cyber Crimes Circle in Lahore. A team was dispatched to Sialkot to take him into custody.
The suspect, whose name had been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL), is accused of orchestrating and distributing the controversial video, allegedly intended to defame the provincial minister.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in an investigation that has attracted substantial political attention. Authorities are now intensifying their efforts to identify potential accomplices and uncover the motives behind the act.
