10 uplift schemes worth over Rs53bn approved

LAHORE:Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Thursday has approved 10 development schemes amounting to Rs53.192 billion.

The schemes were approved in the PDWP’s 49th meeting presided over by P&D Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan. The approved schemes included Pilot Programme for Hub & Spoke Model at Zahir Pir, Rahim Yar Khan, at a cost of Rs3.896bn, Programme for Strategic Transformation/Revamping of Selected Blocks of Tertiary Care Facilities (Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi) at a cost of Rs3.608bn, establishment of 200-bed Mother & Child Hospital at Ghalla Godam, Multan, at a cost of Rs7.416bn, establishment of Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology in the building of Rehmat-ul-lil-Aalamin Block at a cost of Rs1.252bn and establishment of Cath Labs at Selected DHQs and uplift of allied facilities in existing buildings at a cost of Rs2.381bn. The other schemes included establishment of 200-bed Mother & Child Hospital in District Attock at a cost of Rs7.823bn, establishment of 200-bed Mother & Child Hospital in Layyah at a cost of Rs7.713bn, establishment of 200-bed Mother & Child Hospital in Bahawalnagar at a cost of Rs8.580bn, establishment of 200-bed Mother & Child Hospital and Nursing College in Mianwali at a cost of Rs8.624bn, and Replacement of Outlived Trunk Sewer from Shouq Chowk to Shaukat Khanum at Main Khayaban-E-Firdousi, Johar Town, Lahore, at a cost of Rs1.900bn.
