This letter refers to the news report ‘PM directs setting up anti-riots force’ (November 29, 2024). In my opinion, riot control is not a permanent solution to the problem.
The factors leading to riots might remain if the underlying factors that triggered them are not addressed. As the saying goes: prevention is better than cure.
