Islamabad:On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, UN Women launched an impactful awareness campaign titled “#InkTheInvisible” to highlight the inviable or unseen impact of gender-based violence (GBV). The campaign, which coincided with the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, highlights the unseen struggles faced by survivors of GBV and called for collective action to end this pervasive issue.
The launch event featured a powerful interactive theatre performance under “Rolling Resistance; Theatre on Wheels” initiative that used dialogue, drama, and audience interaction to shed light on the realities of violence, sparking meaningful conversations and reflections. The interactive theatre on wheels was launched on November 25, the start of 16 Days of Activism against GBV and toured several cities engaging diverse communities through performances that depicted invisible stories of the GBV.
Participants praised the performance for its raw portrayal of hidden struggles and introducing the characters that were very easy to connect with, characters that exist in almost every household. At the end, participants shared their thoughts on the urgent need to support survivors and dismantle societal barriers that perpetuate violence.
