ISLAMABAD: Local courts on Tuesday granted interim pre-arrest bail to PTI leader Omar Ayub in five cases registered by various police stations in the capital, restraining the police from arresting him.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Asif Mehmood accepted Omar Ayub’s interim bail in two FIRs registered by the Bhara Kahu Police Station and one by the Koral Police Station, against surety bonds of Rs10,000 each, valid until December 21.
Similarly, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka granted pre-arrest bail to Omar Ayub in two cases lodged by the Secretariat and Aabpara police stations against surety bonds of Rs5,000 each.
The courts directed the police to produce case records at the next hearing and stayed Omar Ayub’s arrest in the meantime.
Additionally, Judge Tahir Abbas Sippra of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Islamabad, approved Omar Ayub’s interim bail in the D-Chowk protest rally case. The court prohibited Kohsar Police Station from arresting him until December 16.
