LAHORE:Chuhng police arrested 12 members of a gang involved in the kidnapping and trafficking of minor children and rescued two abducted children.
However, one accomplice managed to escape during the operation. The arrested suspects were identified as Shahnaz, Sanai, Mashael, Ramzan, Shahbaz, Matiur Rehman, Yaqub, Inam Abbas, Fatima, Kanza, Zainab, and Meraj Bibi. An accused, Inam Yaqub, evaded arrest and fled the scene. According to the police, the rescued children were handed over to the Child Protection Bureau. A case was registered against the arrested individuals. The female accused confessed to buying and selling children in the initial investigation and said that they had sold many children for Rs2.3 million so far.
Rs154,000 fine imposed on biker over 86 violations
A traffic warden from the Mughalpura area apprehended a motorcyclist who had violated traffic laws 86 times. The motorcyclist was fined Rs154,000—the highest fine ever imposed on a motorcyclist in the City. The motorcyclist ignored the helmet rule 73 times, violated traffic signals nine times, broke the one-way rule three times, and disobeyed the lane discipline rule once. The bike has been impounded at the police station.
Three die in separate incidents
Three people lost their lives in separate incidents across the City on Wednesday. In the first incident, a 45-year-old man was found dead near Panj Pir Darbar in the jurisdiction of the Ghaziabad police. The victim, identified as Sakhawat, was reportedly a drug addict and is believed to have died due to excessive drug use. In another incident, a 50-year-old man, M Saifal, a resident of Muzaffargarh, lost his life in a traffic accident within the limits of Sundar police. Separately, a 35-year-old man was found dead on the roadside in the Manga Mandi police area.
