KP CM urges Centre to implement Chashma Project

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Wednesday urged the federal government to play its role in implementing the Chashma Project.

“The Chashma Right Bank Canal (Lift) Project is not only vital for the province but also essential for the country’s food security,” he said as Chairman of the Prime Minister Inspection Commission, Brigadier (R) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha met him at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar.

According to a handout, both agreed to expedite the pace of work on development projects to ensure their timely completion.

The matters related to development projects under the Federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came under discussion during the meeting.

Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Additional Chief Secretaries Ikramullah Khan and Muhammad Abid Majeed, along with other relevant officials, were also present on the occasion.

It was agreed in the meeting to expedite the pace of work on development projects to ensure their timely completion.

The importance of improved coordination among relevant departments to resolve obstacles to the implementation of these projects was also emphasized.

Necessary directives were issued to the relevant federal and provincial departments to take requisite steps in this regard.

The projects that came under discussion included the Peshawar Northern Bypass, Chitral-Shandur Road, Chashma Right Bank Canal, Hangu Road, and other key initiatives.

The chief minister stated that the completion of projects initiated in KP under the Federal PSDP was crucial as they were important to public welfare.

He assured the provincial government would fulfill his responsibilities to ensure their timely completion.

Brigadier (R) Muzaffar Ranjha assured that all ongoing projects under the Federal PSDP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be completed.
