Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Amir Khattak, has directed the Deputy Commissioners of all districts to establish an inspection committee tasked with overseeing the progress of ongoing development projects. This committee, chaired by the Assistant Commissioner General, will include key members such as the Deputy Director Development and Assistant Director Local Government. The team will monitor the sites of active projects, particularly those involving road construction, to ensure that work is proceeding at an appropriate pace and meets the required quality standards.
Engineer Amir Khattak emphasized the importance of assessing each development scheme, not only for financial progress but also to guarantee that government funds are being spent effectively and beneficially. "The primary objective of each project is to provide relief to the public," he stated during a review meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi. The meeting, which was attended by Additional Commissioner Coordination Revenue Masood Ahmed Bukhari, SE Highway Rao Tahir, Director Development Sania Safi, and other concerned officers, also included a video link session with the Deputy Commissioners.
During the meeting, the Highway Department provided an update on ongoing projects. In Attock district, there are nine development schemes worth Rs 4152 million, with a progress rate of 52%. Additionally, the Rahib program has seen the completion of two out of six schemes, while work continues on the remaining four. Ten schemes under the Road Restoration Program and three schemes under the Chief Minister SGDs are also underway.
