Salik calls on Saudi Haj minister in Jeddah

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain met Saudi Minister of Haj and Umra Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabi’ah in Jeddah on Sunday.

The meeting reviewed the preparations for Haj 2025.

Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain praised the efforts of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Minister of Haj and Umrah in providing excellent facilities for pilgrims.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historic and fraternal relations, which are founded on a shared faith, history, and culture.

He mentioned that there is further potential to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

This year, measures have been taken to provide better facilities for Pakistani pilgrims compared to previous years, and instructions have been given to the Haj Affairs Office in Jeddah to ensure the best services for the pilgrims.

Saudi Minister of Haj and Umra Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabi’ah remarked that a large number of pilgrims come from Pakistan each year, and it is an honor to serve them.

He assured that every possible cooperation would be provided to Pakistani pilgrims, emphasising the enduring love for Pakistan and the desire to enhance mutual relations.

High-ranking officials from the Saudi Ministry of Haj and members of the Pakistani delegation, including Secretary of Religious Affairs Zulfiqar Haider and senior officials from the Haj Affairs Office in Pakistan, participated in the meeting.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain who arrived in Jeddah on three-day official visit to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will sign the Haj Agreement 2025 and will also participate in the Global Haj and Umrah Conference and Expo.

The fourth edition of the Global Haj and Umrah Conference and Expo, organised by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah, will be held in Jeddah from January 13 to 16. The conference aims to enhance services for pilgrims and promote transparency and competitiveness in related industries.

The four-day conference will have the participation of ministers, distinguished personalities, and diplomats from 90 countries.
