NOWSHERA: Three people were killed when two rival groups traded fire near Lal Kurti Railway Crossing in the Nowshera Cantonment, police sources said on Tuesday.
The injured and slain were rushed to the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex. According to police, Sajjad Ali, son of Sher Hassan, and Haider Zaman, son of Gul Dad, residents of Tangi Khattak, were returning home after a hearing at the district court. Sajjad was on bail in a murder case and had appeared in court along with his relative Haider Zaman.
They were traveling in a rickshaw near Lal Kurti Railway Crossing when two accused Mohammad Ifaq, son of Nawab Ali, and Ayaz, son of Fayyaz Khan, riding a motorcycle opened fire on Sajjad and Haider. In retaliation, Aqif, son of Haider Zaman, who was accompanying them, fired back, injuring Mohammad Ifaq, who later died at the medical complex.
