ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has announced it will hold a public hearing on January 29 to review a petition filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G) concerning its proposed market operation fee for the fiscal year 2024-25.
In the petition, CPPA-G is seeking Nepra’s approval to set the market operation fee at Rs3.85 per kilowatt-month, excluding legal charges, or Rs5.19 per kilowatt-month, including legal charges. The agency has also requested permission to immediately apply the approved fee and make any necessary adjustments based on audited financial statements for FY2024-25. Alongside the fee proposal, CPPA-G has provided breakdown of its revenue requirements, which include general establishment costs, administrative expenses, and other operational outlays. According to the petition, the total revenue requirement for fiscal year stands at Rs2.767bn. Out of the total, Rs2.167bn is earmarked for general establishment costs, Rs308m for administrative expenses, Rs174 million for office operations and service maintenance, and Rs118 million for capital expenditures. Of the total amount of Rs2.767 billion, CPPA-G has requested Rs253 million for market operation charges. The public hearing will allow stakeholders to present their views on the proposed fee structure and related financial requirements.
