RAWALPINDI: PTI’s counsel Faisal Chaudhry Wednesday raised serious concerns over the transparency of the ongoing trial against Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media outside the Adiala jail, he termed the proceedings disorderly and biased, leaving witnesses and defendants confused.
He questioned the validity of evidence presented in the court, including a fully charged mobile phone allegedly recovered from a suspect linked to the May 9 incidents.
The PTI founder, through his lawyer, criticised the idea of military trial of civilians, calling it a violation of both domestic and international legal standards.
He said Imran alleged that he was aware of the mastermind behind the May 9 incidents, linking the individual to his earlier abduction and theft of CCTV footage.
Imran described the events as a politically motivated false flag operation and called for an independent judicial commission to investigate. The PTI founder directed the party’s senior leaders to engage with the opposition parties to foster political collaboration.
Speaking to the media outside the Adiala jail, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry expressed concerns over the ATC, Rawalpindi, proceedings. Fawad underscored the need for dialogue to ease tensions, stating that such measures would benefit the nation.
