LAHORE:The project of providing medicines to patients suffering from cancer and heart diseases at home by the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has started yielding excellent results.
According to a press release issued on Thursday, a spokesperson for health department said that 90% success has been achieved during the pilot phase at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Pakistan Post is further improving the medicine delivery system under the agreement.
The provision of free medicines to the patients proved the success of this agreement and only 1.5% of the problems were faced due to the non-availability of addresses of patients. The patients living in the densely populated areas have expressed great satisfaction on receiving the medicines. This project will be fully activated in 13 selected government hospitals across the province in the next few days.
