Islamabad: The Islamabad Police have reinstated public conciliatory committees to provide swift and fair solutions to citizens' concerns, according to a statement by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad. These committees will operate around the clock at the police station level to address issues promptly and effectively.
The committees aim to separate personal disputes from police station duties, reducing the burden on law enforcement and judiciary systems. Minor disputes will be resolved locally, ensuring citizens do not need to undergo formal police processes. Operating 24/7, the initiative is designed to offer relief to the public and enhance community trust in the police.
DIG Islamabad emphasized that the committees will adhere to principles of transparency, impartiality, and merit in resolving disputes. Members of these committees represent a diverse cross-section of society to ensure balanced decision-making. Addressing a ceremony at Shalimar Police Station, DIG Islamabad stated that the initiative prioritizes protecting citizens’ rights and resolving issues quickly. He noted that the committees would save valuable time for the police and judiciary while fostering community trust.
The Islamabad Police have assured that the reactivation of public conciliatory committees underscores their dedication to serving the public and ensuring the timely resolution of grievances. This initiative represents a step toward more accessible and citizen-friendly policing.
