Five children went missing mysteriously in Karachi recently. Two of the children have safely returned home, but there is still no clue about the remaining.

The missing children are aged between five and 12 years. They disappeared from SITE Area, the Garden locality and Bilal Colony. Two brothers who went missing from SITE Area were found at their aunt’s home.

However, two children who are neighbours and disappeared from Garden West on January 14, and Sarim, who was reportedly abducted from Bilal Colony on January 7, remain untraced. In the latest development, nine-year-old Arbaz and 12-year-old Shiraz who had gone missing from SITE Area were found at their aunt’s home on Wednesday night.

SITE A Section SHO Chaudhry Javed Akhtar said that both children had come home during their lunch break on Tuesday from a seminary. They reportedly broke the lock of a cupboard at home and took Rs15,000, after which they went missing.

Their parents searched for them and then informed the police. SHO Akhtar mentioned that due to the joint efforts of the parents and the police, the children were recovered from the Keamari area.

Their father, namely Islam, also appreciated the role of police in assisting the family to trace the whereabouts of his children. The children revealed during questioning that they had run away because their mother used to beat them for not attending the seminary.

Police are conducting further inquiries to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has commended the Keamari SSP and his team for their commendable performance in ensuring the safe recovery of the two children who had gone missing two days ago.

Separately, five-year-old Aalian and six-year-old Ali, who went missing from Garden West on Tuesday while playing outside their homes, remain untraced. Similarly, seven-year-old Sarim, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances from Bilal Colony, has also not been located. According to Sarim’s father, his wife had received WhatsApp messages from an international number, and the sender had demanded a ransom of Rs500,000 for releasing the boy.
