The majority of Pakistan’s population depends on agriculture. It accounts for 24 per cent of our GDP and is the largest source of foreign exchange earnings. However, it has umpteenth problems which are lowering agricultural production. Lower average water productivity, pests and diseases attacks, improper use of fertilisers, use of low-quality seeds, extra use of urea, and climate change induced problems are among the main issues that are destroying agriculture in Pakistan. By adopting different strategies and implementing reforms, Pakistan can solve the agricultural problem. Use of better technology and high quality and climate resilient seeds, improved agricultural markets, and hi-tech pest control solutions can help Pakistan solve its agricultural crisis.
