LAHORE: The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,293 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 21 people died, whereas 1,365 were injured. Out of these, 563 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 802 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Criminals, beggars arrested: Police arrested several criminals and beggars from various parts of the City. Mughalpura police arrested three bike thieves and two drug dealers from different locations. The City Division Police arrested 59 professional beggars and their facilitators during the last 24 hours.
Three injured in car, rickshaw collision: Three people, including a girl, were injured in a collision between a car and a rickshaw near Kalma Chowk on Ferozepur Road on Sunday.
According to Rescue officials, the accident occurred when a speeding car collided head-on with a rickshaw coming from the opposite direction.
The impact severely damaged the front portion of the rickshaw. The injured were promptly shifted to Jinnah Hospital by the Rescue team. Police arrested the car driver.
Body found: Body of a boy was recovered from Ravi-Siphon canal on Sunday.
Upon receiving information, Rescue teams reached the spot, removed the body from the canal and handed it over to the police. Police shifted the body to morgue.
