Spend on people

Tuesday, Jan 21, 2025

I have just returned after attending the funeral of a friend, a former university classmate. Deadly cancer took him away from us after long-suffering. His last days of chemotherapy were really painful. Death is a reality and is destined for everyone, but why in such a painful way? He was a well-off person and his family must have taken all the necessary steps for his treatment, but the cancer won. My question is to the wealthy first world countries and their rich personalities, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and others who are spending billions of dollars to explore space: Why not spend a little of your wealth on finding a final cure for deadly diseases, including cancer, heart diseases?
