KARACHI: Navy has furthered its lead on the fifth day of 32nd National Shooting Championship at PN Shooting range here on Monday.
In the individual category of Standard Pistol event, Navy’s Maqbool Hussain scored 568 points to win gold medal and Abdul Quddus scored 560 points for silver medal while Ismail Khan from Army scored 560 (X-8) points to take bronze medal.
In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1682 points to clinch gold, Army scored 1660 points for silver, and PAF scored 1595 points to win bronze medal. In the individual category of 10m Air Rifle event for men, Army’s Suleman Khan scored 252.8 points (new national record) to win gold medal and M Uzman scored 229.2 points to take bronze medal while Ghufran Adil from Navy scored 250.4 points to clinch silver medal.
In the team category of the said event, Army scored 1876.0 points (new national record) for gold, Navy scored 1865.8 points to grab silver, and PAF scored 1783.0 points to take bronze medal. In the individual category of 50m Rifle 3-Position event for women, Navy’s Mehwish Saeed scored 442.1 points, Sara Saleem scored 441.7 points, and Hadeqa Iqbal scored 431.5 points to win gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.
In the team category of the said event, Navy scored 1706 points to take gold, Army scored 1627 points for silver, and WAPDA scored 1581 points to win bronze medal. At the end of day five, Navy with 14 gold, 13 silver, and four bronze medals topped the medal table while Army with 10 gold, 10 silver, and seven bronze medals stood second.
PAF with one silver and nine bronze medals took third position and Wapda with two bronze medals got fourth position while HEC and Sindh with one bronze medal each achieved fifth position.
