Two brothers were killed and three others injured in a firing attack at their home in the SITE area on Monday. The incident occurred in the Haroonabad area, within the jurisdiction of the SITE Area police station. Police and rescue teams transported the victims to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
The deceased brothers were identified as 45-year-old Asadullah, son of Gul, and 20-year-old Samiullah, while the injured were identified as Ameer Abdullah, Ikramullah, and Shafiullah. According to the police's initial report, one of the injured individuals claimed that four to five armed menforcibly entered their house and opened fire on the family. The injured added that the attackers did not steal anything from the property. The family, originally from Gambat, reportedly has no known enemies, and all five brothers were government employees.
The police noted inconsistencies in the statements given by the injured, and while the attack was initially believed to have been the result of a family dispute, further investigations suggested it might have been carried out by external assailants. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, and further updates are awaited.
