One killed in Qila Saifullah blast

QUETTA:- A man working with a company was killed and another injured in a bomb attack on a vehicle of the company in Qila Saifullah district, on Monday.

Officials while confirming the bomb attack at the vehicle of the company said that an improvised explosive device was planted at the road leading to the camp of the company on the outskirts of Qila Saifullah district headquarters by unknown miscreants which were detonated when a vehicle of the company reached at the site.

“Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated through remote control to target the vehicle. Two people traveling in the vehicle including the driver were seriously injured who were shifted to the hospital where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries,” Akhtar Hayat, a senior police officer of the City police station of Qila Saifullah said.

The man who lost his life in the blast was identified as Gulla Khan Mirzai who had received multiple wounds that caused his death in the hospital before getting any medical treatment. The condition of the other injured is also serious who was shifted to Quetta.

“The target was the company vehicle,” Akhtar Hayat said, adding it was the second attack of the same nature in Qila Saifullah. Miscreants had also attacked a vehicle with IED two months back at the gate of the camp gate in which the driver was injured. The company was working in Qila Saifullah district on an oil and gas exploration project. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast.
