LAHORE: The process of internal accountability in the Lahore Police continues as DIG Operations Faisal Kamran penalised 11 officers and personnel during a weekly Orderly Room session held at Qila Gujjar Singh on Saturday.

According to the police spokesperson, the officers were issued show-cause notices and subsequently faced disciplinary actions, including service suspensions, salary deductions, increment stoppages, and other penalties. The officers were also issued a final warning to improve their performance and fulfil their duties diligently. DIG Faisal Kamran revealed that over 300 officers and personnel have been penalised in the past ten months. He emphasised that departmental accountability plays a pivotal role in forming an efficient police force. "There is no room for negligence or corruption in Lahore Police. Those who misuse their authority are enemies of both the public and the police force," the DIG stated. He reiterated the department's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and abuse of power, stressing that strict accountability will be enforced, and honest performance will be encouraged. "We will not allow a few black sheep to tarnish the image of the entire department," he added.
