QUETTA: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited security forces personnel injured during various anti-terror operations in Kalat and other districts of Baluchistan and paid tribute to them for their indomitable resolve to protect the motherland.
“The evil intentions of the enemies of peace, development, and prosperity of Balochistan will never be allowed to succeed,” the prime minister said as he arrived at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) during his daylong visit here.
During his interaction with the injured personnel, he praised their spirit of sacrifice for the country and their unwavering determination to protect the homeland. “You are all heroes of the nation. The entire nation, including me, is proud of you and your family members who are filled with the spirit of sacrifice.”
“As long as the protection of the nation is entrusted to such brave soldiers, the enemy cannot impose its evil intentions on Pakistan,” he remarked. The Pakistani armed forces and the Pakistani people stood shoulder to shoulder to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country,” he added.
“The elements spreading terrorism in Balochistan are enemies of the development of the province. The security forces are busy day and night to eliminate such elements,” the prime minister said.
The injured soldiers also interacted with the prime minister during the visit. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar and Power Minister Owais Leghari also accompanied the prime minister.
Says nation & armed forces stand together to eliminate menace of terrorism from country Meanwhile Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called upon the political leadership and the nation to stay united in the fight against terrorism and to ensure peace in the country.
Chairing a meeting on the law and order situation in Quetta on Monday PM Shehbaz emphasized that this is not the time for division or politics but for channeling all our energies with sincerity to eliminate terrorism.
Paying glowing tributes to the sacrifices of security personnel in the war against terrorism the prime minister expressed the confidence that Pakistan will become abode of peace. He said the security personnel are rendering their blood and the entire nation pays salute to their sacrifices and express solidarity with them.
The prime minister said terrorists are the enemies of the peace and development of Balochistan. He said the terrorists do not want the people of Balochistan to be prosperous, educated and employed.
The prime minister, however, stated in categorical terms that the journey of Balochistan’s development would continue. Cowardly acts of miscreants cannot shake the government’s resolve for Balochistan’s progress.
He said development of Balochistan is a top priority for the government. Efforts are being made to provide quality health and education facilities as well as employment opportunities in the province. He mentioned that a special quota was recently allocated for Balochistan s students who were sent to China for advanced training in the agricultural sector.
Through the Youth Program and the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme students in Balochistan are being empowered. To promote agriculture in Balochistan agricultural tube wells have been solarized.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace of work on CPEC the prime minister said flights have already begun at Gwadar Airport which he said will play a key role in making Pakistan a vital link between Central Asia Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed his grief over the tragic incident in Kalat, where 18 young soldiers embraced martyrdom and 23 terrorists were killed.
The prime minister further assured that under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Armed Forces would continue to work to make the country especially Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa peaceful, which was essential for the country’s development and prosperity.
PM Shehbaz remarked that he found the morale of the Jawans and officers of law enforcement agencies very high and they were fully committed to protect the country from enemies.
He paid tribute to the martyrs and the families of the martyred soldiers, offering complete solidarity with them. The prime minister noted that the injured soldiers said they had no regret even if parts of their bodies were damaged, as they sacrificed for the greater cause of the nation. They also said that they would be ready to offer their lives if necessary, he added.
Despite terrorism, the journey of development and prosperity in Balochistan would continue, he added. Special quotas for Balochistan students in agricultural training programs in China, as well as the solarization of agricultural tube wells, were examples of ongoing efforts to empower the youth, the prime minister said.
He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the security forces, police, district administration, and other institutions working tirelessly for a peaceful Balochistan. On the occasion, Governor of Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfarz Bugti, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Laghari, MNA Jamal Shah Kakar, Senator Agha Shah Zaiba Durrani, provincial ministers Mir Saleem Ahmad Khosa, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Chief Secretary of Balochistan Shakeel Qadir, IG Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, Spokesperson of Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, DIG Quetta Aitzaz Ahmed Goraya, and others were also present.
