LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has allowed the Aurat March to proceed on February 12, following petitions by activists, including Leena Ghani.
Justice Anwar Hussain presided over the hearing, where the government assured security arrangements for the event. The organisers had filed a contempt petition against Lahore’s deputy commissioner for delaying approval despite a 2023 court order mandating facilitation. The march, set to follow its traditional route from Lahore Press Club to Egerton Road, will mark National Women’s Day and highlight gender rights issues.
