In remembrance

Saturday, Feb 08, 2025

This letter refers to the editorial ‘An enduring legacy’ (February 6). The passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV is a significant loss not only to his global followers but also to peace-loving people around the world. His message of peace and societal assimilation has been immensely valuable to his followers. The North American Ismaili community has exemplified his guidelines, maintaining a balanced social system within their Jamat Khanas, and serving as a model of moderation for those curious about other religions, including Islam.

During the Hurricane Katrina disaster and its aftermath, this community opened their places of worship to aid the displaced and provided various donations to help people cope with the natural disaster. Overall, the spirit of giving and charity has always guided this community, led by their Imam. Rest in peace, Prince Karim Aga Khan.
