ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has lauded the recent appointments and transfers of additional judges at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and hoped that the new judges would contribute to timely and efficient administration of justice and alleviate the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens.
SCBA President Mian Rauf Atta met Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi and IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq separately, says a press release issued here on Saturday. The SCBA president hailed the CJP for the steps taken for efficient functioning of the court, which have effectively resulted in the reduction of longstanding pendency. Similarly, he, while meeting with the IHC CJ, praised the recent appointments and transfers of additional judges at the high court, particularly those from Balochistan. He noted that this reflects the principles of federalism and enhances diversity within the judiciary.
During both the meetings, the SCBA president highlighted the importance of mutual respect between the Bar and the Bench and assured esteem respect and reverence for the Bench on behalf of the legal community, the press release added.
