KARACHI: The newly-upgraded and renovated National Bank Stadium was inaugurated in glittering and dazzling ceremony on Tuesday. Sindh Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and PCB Chairman graced the venue’s inaugural event.
Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also attended the inauguration ceremony at the stadium now featuring world-class facilities for players and spectators, ahead of international matches of the Tri-Nation Series and the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The inauguration ceremony also feature wonderful and colorful fireworks, a dazzling light show, and live performances by renowned singers Sahir Ali Bagga and Shafqat Amanat Ali. The entry in the stadium was free for common citizens in the inauguration and musical ceremony, by PCB administration, thus, people especially young generation thronged at the stadium and enjoy the inauguration of the stadium and musical ceremony.
The grand opening ceremony was feature of music, firework, lighting and entertainment. The stadium has been developed keeping in mind organized he ICC Champions Trophy matches in befitting manner, as three matches will be organized here at National stadium.
The newly upgraded National Bank Stadium of Karachi after getting a state-of-the-art brand-new pavilion, digital screens, LED lights, and thousands of new chairs for the spectators. The newly constructed pavilion features world-class dressing rooms for players and match officials, complemented by high-quality hospitality rooms.
“Developed in a record time of around four months, the facility underscores the dedication and efficiency behind the stadium’s rapid transformation,” the PCB claimed. In addition to the new pavilion, several major upgrades have been completed at the National Bank Stadium to enhance both the playing and viewing experience.
These include the installation of 350 LED lights to improve broadcast quality, the fixing of two digital replay screens and the addition of over 5,000 new chairs to enhance spectator comfort. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also visited the stadium time and again to ensure the timely completion of the work. Mohsin Naqvi said the upgrade was a testament to the board’s vision of elevating Pakistan’s cricketing venues to international standards.
