ISLAMABAD: The prime minister has approved amendments to the CSS Professional Groups and Services (Probation, Training and Seniority) Rules, 1990.
Under the amendment, a new clause has been added to the rules, under which it has been declared that it is mandatory for every probationer to pass every training examination to the satisfaction of the head of the institution. Under the amendment, it has been declared that it is mandatory for probationers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) to also qualify the provincial government departmental examination.
The Establishment Division has issued a formal notification in this regard. It is clear that before this CSS officers pass common training. Then they undergo specialized training and then pass the final pass-out exam from FPSC. It was not mandatory for officers serving in the province to pass the provincial departmental examination. Now it has been made part of the seniority rules.
