ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s struggle in squash events at the Asian level continues with Korea knocking them out in the semi-finals, winning 2-0 in the Asian Junior Championship underway in Hong Kong.
Pakistan players consisting of the best juniors who have been training for years at PSF Academies and Centres, were no match for fast-improving Koreans.
Jooyoung Na (Kor) needed just 28 minutes to send Anas Ali Shah (Pak) packing 11-6, 11-7, 11-3. It is worth mentioning here that Anas has been training for years under PSB coaches and even has failed to take the match to the fourth game.
Earlier, Seojin Oh (Kor) did not give a clue to Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen (Pak) beating him also in straight games 11-5, 11-7, 11-3. The match lasted for just 27 minutes.
Once Pakistan went down 2-0, Abdullah Nawaz was not required to play the third match. By reaching the semis, Pakistan finished joint third/fourth.
