LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari Saturday said it is a positive trend that the governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh are emulating policies introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in the province.
Talking to reporters, the minister said relief reaching to people beyond Punjab is a testament to the effectiveness of the Punjab governance. She said instead of criticising CM Maryam Nawaz, her opponents should focus on addressing issues faced by the people of their provinces. She said the province is witnessing an unprecedented transformation in the fields of agriculture, industry, and infrastructure under policies of the CM and concerted efforts were underway to make Punjab the true food basket of the country by strengthening its agriculture sector. Azma said for the first time in Punjab’s history, Rs400 billion Kissan Card Programme was initiated to support farmers. She said the CM was committed providing equal relief to people of all districts of the province. She said under Ramazan Nigehban Programme essential food supplies will be delivered directly to the homes of deserving families.
