Islamabad: Ilham Aliyev, president, Republic of Azerbaijan, has awarded Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri, executive director, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), and member of Advisory Committee to the COP29 Presidency, the Certificate of Appreciation in recognition to his outstanding contributions and performance at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties) held at Baku in November last.
The prestigious certificate was conferred on Dr Suleri by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Ali Alizada, here at the Embassy. The Certificate underscores Dr Suleri's commitment to fostering collaborative solutions to climate change and his active role in collaborating between international partnerships so as to achieve the goals set forth by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In his remarks, Dr. Suleri expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed of his commitment saying this honor is not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the collective efforts of all those working tirelessly to combat climate change. He said that COP29 was a global platform for dialogue.
