KARACHI: The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) has called for the resolution of glitches, anomalies and usability issues affecting taxpayers using the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Iris portal.
In a letter to the director-general (IT & DT) at the FBR, the KTBA said that these issues not only cause inconvenience but also create compliance challenges, particularly for taxpayers who are not well-versed in technology. Addressing these concerns, it noted, would significantly enhance the user experience and encourage greater adherence to tax regulations.
The association urged the FBR to investigate and rectify the identified glitches and anomalies as a priority. It also recommended incorporating user feedback to improve the portal’s functionality and interface, emphasising the need for the FBR to take proactive steps to strengthen the Iris portal as a reliable tool for taxpayers.
The KTBA acknowledged that upgrading and developing the IRIS portal is an ongoing process. “We will continue to highlight such glitches and anomalies in the future to ensure smooth usability and operations,” it added.
