LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Friday released Rs 3.325 million for the treatment of cops and their families.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs 600,000 were released for ASI Ali Raza, Rs 500,000 for Ghazi Constable Inam Ali, Rs 250,000 each for Constables Muhammad Naeem, Tanveer Hussain and Salim Ullah, Rs 200,000 each for former cops Rafiq Hassan and Sub-Inspector Naeem Ullah for their medical treatment.
ASI Ahsan Ullah, Head Constable M Afzal, Constable Khawar Maqbool, SP Farooq Ahmed Bhutta, Constable Muhammad Zulfiqar and Naib Qasid Iqra Azeem were given Rs 100,000 each for their treatment.
Inspector Muhammad Kashif Yousaf, former Head Constable Abdul Hameed, Constables Ahsan Khan, Muhammad Inayat and Muhammad Usman Butt were given Rs75,000 each for their treatment.
The IGP said the department is also providing the best medical facilities to the employees under inked MOUs with various institutions. Meanwhile, IGP Dr Usman Anwar and CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana paid rich tributes to the martyred police officers and officials on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of Raiwind Lahore incident.
In a statement, the IGP stated that great families and brave sons who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty deserved our salutes. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, two Sub-Inspectors, two Head Constables and three constables of Punjab Police embraced martyrdom in a suicide attack in 2018.
