LAHORE: In a major move to facilitate motorcyclists and pedestrians, authorities have decided to construct overhead crossing bridges at eight key locations across the city.
The initiative aimed to improve traffic flow and ensure road safety, particularly in high-traffic zones. According to the traffic police, the first phase will see the construction of crossing bridges at Hussain Chowk, Defence Mor, and Bhutta Chowk - areas known for their heavy traffic due to nearby schools, colleges, and commercial hubs. Officials believe that these bridges will not only ease congestion but also safeguard the rights of pedestrians and bikers. Traffic wardens will be deployed at these locations to enforce the use of overhead bridges and prevent jaywalking or unsafe road crossings.
