LAHORE: Lahore Police continued its crackdown against lawbreakers on Saturday.
Manga Mandi Police arrested a three-member motorcycle theft and mobile snatching gang. The arrested suspects include Mehtab, Abdullah, and Mohsin Ali, who are habitual offenders with prior records and multiple imprisonments. Stolen motorcycles, thousands of rupees in cash, two pistols, and bullets were recovered from their possession. Gul Dasht Town Police tightened the noose around gamblers, arresting 16 individuals. The arrested suspects include Qadeer, Ghulam Hussain, Zakariya, Nadeem, and Faisal, among others. They were caught red-handed gambling on snooker games. Gambling tools, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from their possession. Similarly, Iqbal Town Police apprehended a gang involved in armed mobile snatching. The arrested suspects, identified as Owais and Farooq, used to snatch mobile phones and purses from women at gunpoint.
Police recovered three mobile phones, a 30-bore pistol with bullets, and a motorcycle from them.
During interrogation, they confessed to committing robberies near Jeddah Chowk, Karim Block, Raheem Store, and Edhi Center.
