Directive to engage youth in healthy activities

LAHORE: Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab, Muzaffar Khan Sial, has called for greater efforts to engage the youth in healthy activities by utilising the region's extensive sports facilities. The secretary sports expressed these views during his visit to various ADP Sports Development Schemes in Multan division.

Accompanied by Divisional Sports Officer Multan, Manzar Shah Fareed, PMU officers, and other officials, the secretary inspected ongoing construction work at key sports facilities, including the Astroturf Hockey Ground Matital, the Multipurpose Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall, and the Rehabilitation and Completion of Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh.

The secretary highlighted the importance of fostering athletic talent in this historically vibrant city. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress and quality of work in sports development schemes. He also participated in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony at the Multan Sports Complex premises.

In his remarks, the secretary emphasised Multan's legacy of producing world-class athletes. "Multan is a historic city with fertile land, and the Sports Department is dedicated to providing top-notch sports facilities to the athletes of this region," he said.

He directed the officials to construct a swimming pool in the next ADP scheme, highlighting the absence of such a facility in the entire Multan Division. Furthermore, during his visit to Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh, he instructed the development of cricket pitches and the transformation of the venue into a multipurpose ground to cater to both youth and the general

public.

He directed the sports officers to actively engage young people in recreational and athletic activities through these facilities, ensuring the optimal utilisation of resources.
