Police claimed on Sunday to have killed two robbers in an encounter in the Lyari area. According to the Kalri police, the encounter took place near Kamila Stop on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road in Lyari.
As a result of the encounter, two suspects were injured. Police apprehended them but they succumbed to their wounds while being transported to a hospital. The deceased men were identified as Mubashir son of Asghar Hussain, and Ahmed. They were residents of Kalakot.
Police recovered two snatched mobile phones, cash, two pistols and a stolen motorcycle from their possession. The encounter occurred when a police patrol team arrived while three armed robbers were robbing a citizen before Sehri. Upon seeing the police, the suspects attempted to escape under the cover of fire. As the police returned fire, two of the robbers were injured while the third managed to flee.
