PESHAWAR: Additional Secretary Information of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Arbab Khizar Hayat has called for the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Talking to reporters, he said that the chief ministers of both provinces were merely figureheads and that the regions were plagued by violence and lawlessness, leaving no citizen safe.
Arbab Khizar Hayat highlighted the deteriorating security situation in both provinces, where terrorist activities have created an atmosphere of fear and instability. He said that the chief ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were no longer capable of governing effectively and must be removed from office.
“Terrorism has engulfed both provinces, and only the imposition of governor’s rule along with a strict military operation can restore peace. Whether terrorism originates from external or internal forces, its eradication is essential,” he stated.
The PMLN leader reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering support for the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism. He also criticised political parties that oppose security operations, stating that their stance is against national interests.
“The frequent martyrdom of security personnel and innocent civilians has left the nation heartbroken. Those who resist counter-terrorism operations are not true well-wishers of the country and its people,” he added.
Arbab Khizar Hayat’s statement comes amid rising concerns over the resurgence of terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
