ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi challenged the conviction of the Accountability Court in the 190 million pound reference two months later.
The petition filed by Barrister Salman Safdar has taken the stance that the National Accountability Bureau maliciously misused its powers, and sentenced them hastily on the basis of an incomplete investigation without obtaining the text of the agreement from the National Crime Agency (NCA), which shows the hesitation of the investigating agency, the investigation involving NCA officials was not even conducted, and the prosecution has failed to present its full case.
The petition requested the court to suspend the January 17th conviction, verdict, and sentence, pending the central appeal’s final decision, with an assurance of the petitioners’ presence at every appeal hearing following the suspension.
