145 properties sealed in LDA operation

LAHORE:As many as 145 properties were sealed and two illegal structures were demolished in LDA teams’ full-scale operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters here on Thursday.

The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman and Azhar Ali. The teams conducted operations at Jan Muhammad Road, Architect Scheme, Airline Scheme, Alhamra Scheme, Wahdat Road, Multan Road, around Canal Road, Gulberg, New Garden Town, Samanabad and New Muslim Town.

LDA teams demolished illegal structures on Plot No. 425 Main Samanabad and Plot No. 101 Block B New Muslim Town. The teams sealed 80 illegal commercial properties at Jan Muhammad Road and adjacent areas like Architect Scheme, Airline Scheme, Alhamra Scheme, 18 properties were sealed on Wahdat Road and Multan Road, 20 properties were sealed around Canal Road in Gulberg and 27 properties were sealed in New Garden Town.

The properties sealed include private schools, private banks, food points, bakeries, cafes, shopping malls, cash and carry, labs, call centres, furniture shops, rent-a-cars, offices, and others.

Later, LDA DG Tahir Farooq reviewed the ongoing development works in the commercial area of G-1 Market. Speaking on this occasion, LDA DG said that the development of controlled parking area in the commercial area is progressing rapidly. He reviewed the work of construction of footpaths, installation of tough tiles and pavers.

Chief Engineer LDA gave a briefing. Work is being done in two shifts in the commercial area of G-1 Market. LDA DG directed to complete the development works soon. Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Project Director, Director Environment, Director Housing IV and concerned officers were present on this occasion.
