Islamabad:Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training hosted the event ‘Special Abilities Expo and Spring Plantation Drive’ in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA) at National Special Education Centre for Hearing Impaired Children.
Federal Minister of Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui was the chief guest on the occasion and State Minister Wajiha Qamar attended the event as guest of honour. The event highlighted the resilience, talent, and potential of special children, reinforcing the commitment of the government and stake holders towards inclusive excellence.
In his opening remarks, Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, highlighted the services and facilities of special education centres under DGSE and elaborated on new initiatives being undertaken by the ministry to uplift the potential and productivity of special education in the federal capital.
The Federal Minister, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, commended the special children for their talents and reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to ensuring quality education, training, and rehabilitation for children with special needs.
Minister of State Wajiha Qamar, expressed her delight being among special children. The event was marked by flamboyant performances by special children with a particularly heartwarming rendition of the national anthem in sign language.
DG Environment CDA and dignitaries engaged with the children, taking photographs and sharing joyous moments. Following the performances, the guests visited stalls showcasing crafts made by special students and viewed display of the assistive technology and rehab devices.
