PESHAWAR: Asma Ali, a scholar from Qurtuba University of Science and Technology, Peshawar, successfully defended her PhD thesis in a public defence here.
Her thesis, “Phonological Variations in the Speech of Native Pashto Speakers: A PRAAT-Assisted Study of 44 English Phonemes,” was widely praised by the panel of experts for its originality, methodology, and contribution to the field.
The defence was chaired by Dr Mujeeb Rahman (COE), with Dr Ghani Khan serving as external examiner and Prof Mujeeb Rahman PhD. (Edinburgh) as internal examiner.
A proud moment for her family, Dr Asma Ali is the daughter of Prof Fayaz Ali Shah, ex-principal of GPGC Mardan.
Her achievement is a milestone for her locality, as she becomes the first PhD degree holder from Gaddar in Mardan.
