PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday conferred Civil Awards on behalf of the President of Pakistan at the Governor’s House on Sunday.
Tamgha-e-Shujaat (Medal of Bravery) was conferred on four people for exhibiting extraordinary courage while three people were awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for their contribution in various fields.
The governor awarded Tamgha-e-Shujaat to Saeed Khan (posthumously) and Sahib Khan for their bravery.
Tamgha-e-Shujaat was awarded posthumously to Major Mahmood Jan and Samiullah Khan for their bravery and sacrifices in the line of duty.
Resident Editor Daily Jang Peshawar Arshad Aziz Malik was conferred upon the civil award Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi conferred the award on Arshad Aziz for his services in journalism for over three decades. He has been heading the Peshawar Bureau of Daily Jang for a long time as Resident Editor. He also remained president of the Peshawar Press Club. The staff of The News, the Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club congratulated Arshad Aziz for receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Dr Akifullah Khan was honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding services in the field of medicine while Bakhtiar Ahmed Khattak was recognized for his work in the field of music.
A number of dignitaries, including Air Vice Marshal, Air Officer Commanding Northern Air Command Taimur Iqbal and Secretary of the Administration Department, Shahid Sohail, as well as the family members and relatives of the award recipients attended the ceremony. The event celebrated the contributions and sacrifices made by individuals in various sectors, highlighting their commitment to the nation and its progress.
