Two killed in Kohistan truck plunge

MANSEHRA: Two persons were killed and another sustained serious injuries when a mini-truck plunged into a ravine in Jijal Bankud area of Lower Kohistan on Wednesday.

“We have shifted the dead and injured to a nearby health facility

after retrieving them from the gorge with the help of locals,” Zaffaruddin,

the district in-charge of Rescue 1122, told reporters.

The vehicle was on the way back to Kohistan from Rawalpindi when its driver, while negotiating a sharp turn, lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into the ravine.

The locals retrieved the bodies and injured and shifted them to the Civil Hospital in Pattan, the district headquarters of Lower Kohistan.

The bodies were handed over to their respective families after doctors completed medico-legal formalities.

The dead were identified as Amanullah and Nazir Ahmad, both residents of Kamila in Upper Kohistan.

Khan Mohammad, who had received serious injuries, was referred to the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital in Abbottabad.
