11 die in road accident in 24 hours

LAHORE:The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,336 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

In these accidents, 11 people died, whereas 1,543 were injured. Out of these, 648 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 895 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Two fire incidents reported

Two separate fire incidents were reported in industrial areas of City Thursday. The first blaze broke out early morning at a fibre sheet manufacturing factory located in Thokar Gulshan Town. Rescue 1122 confirmed that emergency vehicles were dispatched promptly, and firefighters worked tirelessly to control the flames. ‘Firefighting is under way,’ officials said.

Later in the afternoon, another fire was reported at a plastic bag material factory and warehouse situated in 4 Number T, Sanda Lal area. The fire quickly engulfed the facility, with thick smoke visible from afar. Rescue teams arrived and began firefighting operations immediately. No casualties were reported so far in either incident, and the cause of the fires remains under investigation.

Man held for killing his wife

Raiwind investigation police arrested a man who had killed his wife with a knife on Eid. The accused identified as Abdul Ghaffar had murdered his wife over a domestic issue.

Assault bid foiled; suspect arrested

Lahore police on Thursday arrested a man accused of attempting to sexually assault a minor boy in the Kahna area. According to police, the suspect, identified as Irfan, lured a child to his barbershop located on Shehzada Road. Once inside, he allegedly tried to assault the boy. The child raised an alarm, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. However, he was caught shortly after during a police chase and taken into custody. A case was registered against the accused.
