LONDON: The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has charged PTI activist Gulfam Hussain for issuing threats of violence to the Sharif family members and for carrying out the act of violence.

Sources confirmed Hussain has been charged and taken into the police custody. He will appear in the court in the next two days. He was arrested four days ago when he breached the police condition by coming near the Sharif family flats on the day Nawaz Sharif reached London.

The original complaint to the police was made by Khurram Butt, PMLN UK’s Youth Wing leader who recently petitioned Oxford University against Imran Khan’s bid to become the Chancellor.

Khurram Butt said: “I had provided the full trail of evidence to the police, showing involvement of Hussain in violence, stalking, harassment and threats.”
