ISLAMABAD: Khan Academy Pakistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akhuwat, one of the country’s leading nonprofit education networks, to pilot Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching assistant, at Akhuwat’s schools.
The agreement was signed by Dr Amjad Saqib, founder and chairperson of Akhuwat, and Zeeshan Hasan, CEO of Khan Academy Pakistan. This partnership marks a milestone in using AI to support teachers and improve learning outcomes in classrooms across Pakistan.
Zeeshan Hasan added, “Khanmigo is designed to assist educators in personalised teaching. We’re excited to work with Akhuwat to explore its potential in Pakistan’s educational landscape.”
Under the pilot, educators in Akhuwat schools will receive training to use Khanmigo as a day-to-day teaching assistant, making lesson planning easier and enabling more effective instruction. Khan Academy Pakistan will provide local support, training, and performance tracking throughout the program.
Dr Amjad Saqib stated, “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to education innovation. By leveraging AI, we can equip teachers with cutting-edge resources to improve learning experiences.”
If successful, the pilot could pave the way for a wider rollout of Khanmigo across other school networks in Pakistan, supporting Khan Academy Pakistan’s mission to make world-class learning accessible for all.
