HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday paid a visit to villages affected by floods in rural Hyderabad and distributed ownership certificates of houses built under the People’s Housing Scheme among affected women.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah accompanied the PPP chairman during the visit. They inspected the houses constructed by the Sindh government for flood victims in the areas of Haroon Sheikh Village, Jhundo Khoso and Himatabad in rural Hyderabad.

Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon, and local PPP leaders and workers were also present on the occasion.

Bilawal also met two blind children, nine-year-old Gul Hassan and 13-year-old Sajjad, from flood-affected families in Gul Hassan Village. He inspected a tactile tile track built in the village to assist visually impaired children. The blind children explained how they used the tactile tile track for guidance.

In Jhundo Khoso, the PPP chairman was briefed that 209 homes were affected by the floods, of which more than 135 had already been rebuilt.

He asked the members of the provincial assembly to ensure that issues facing the flood-affected people were resolved on a priority basis.
