Mental health literacy

Wednesday, Apr 23, 2025

Mental health is not an elite issue. For many, it is a matter of survival. In Pakistan, our silence around it has become a quiet violence which is costing lives, dignity and potential with every passing day. With over 24 million Pakistanis needing mental-health support and less than 500 psychiatrists, mostly in cities, how do we claim to care? Where are the school counsellors, trained teachers and support centres? We need a national mental health literacy movement.
