Unutilised talent

Wednesday, Apr 23, 2025

As a criminology graduate, I respectfully request the honourable prime minister to consider the hundreds of young Pakistanis like me who are stepping into the world with degrees that are rich in knowledge but underutilised within our own country. While criminology is a valuable and advanced discipline, it has yet to find its rightful place in our law enforcement agencies and institutions.

The criminology degree is nowhere to be found in the eligibility criteria for jobs in many of our law-enforcement agencies, as far as I am aware. This omission not only limits the potential of graduates but also deprives our institutions of trained individuals who can significantly contribute to modernising crime prevention and investigation.
